Overview

List

List is a plugin for the BeeGraphy Editor that provides data structure nodes for working with ordered collections, generated sequences, unique sets, and hierarchical trees. It gives you the tools to extract, transform, and organize data flowing through your parametric graph, making it easier to manage complex design logic without writing code.

The plugin is organized into four node groups.

List

These nodes manipulate ordered collections of items. Use them to inspect, extract, insert, remove, reorder, and sort data.

  • List Length measures the number of items in a list.
  • List Item returns the item at a given index.
  • Item Index finds the position of a specified item.
  • Remove Subset and Extract Subset cut out or isolate a continuous range of items.
  • Split List divides a list into separate parts at an index.
  • Reverse List flips the order of items.
  • Insert List Items adds items at a specific position.
  • Dispatch List routes items into two target lists based on a pattern.
  • Take Nth and Remove Nth sample or strip items at regular intervals.
  • Remove By Index deletes items at given positions.
  • Number List Sort sorts numeric keys without carrying along related values.
  • Replace Items swaps selected items for new ones.
  • Partition List breaks a list into equal-sized sub-lists.
  • Sort List sorts numeric keys while optionally keeping synchronous values attached.
  • AscDesc List creates a rising and falling sequence of numbers.
  • Remove Pattern filters items using a repeating bit mask.

Sequence

These nodes generate numeric sequences and pattern-based data. Use them to create ordered progressions, random values, and remapped ranges.

  • List Sequence creates a simple numeric sequence.
  • List Sequence SEC builds a sequence from start, end, and count.
  • Fibonacci produces a Fibonacci sequence.
  • Grow Step Sequence creates a sequence whose step size grows.
  • Duplicate List repeats a list a specified number of times.
  • Repeat List repeats a pattern until it reaches a desired length.
  • Random Numbers List generates a list of random numbers.
  • Remap Numbers rescales values from one range to another.
  • Bounds returns the minimum and maximum of a number list.

Set

These nodes handle collections of unique items and common set operations. Use them to combine, compare, and clean lists.

  • List Union merges two lists into one set.
  • List Difference subtracts one list from another.
  • List Intersection keeps only items that appear in both lists.
  • List Merge combines two lists without removing duplicates.
  • Delete Consecutive removes adjacent duplicate items.
  • Shift List offsets all items by a number of steps.
  • List Order Changing changes the order of items in a list.

Tree

These nodes manage hierarchical data trees, where items are organized into branches and paths. Use them to reshape complex, nested data for parametric workflows.

  • Construct Path and Deconstruct Path build and break down branch paths.
  • Flatten Tree and Unflatten Tree move data between flat lists and nested branches.
  • Graft Tree, Simplify Tree, Trim Tree, and Prune Tree adjust the depth and structure of a tree.
  • Flip Tree swaps the roles of rows and columns.
  • Clean Tree removes null and invalid items.
  • Tree Branch retrieves a specific branch.
  • Tree Item retrieves a specific item from a tree.
  • Weave combines several data streams using a custom pattern.
  • Stream Filter, Condition, and Scope Gate control which branches of data flow through.
  • Tree Statistics reports structural information about a tree.
  • Shift Paths and Path Mapper reorganize tree paths.
  • Entwine Tree assembles multiple inputs into a single tree.

Examples

Extract and insert list items

To replace a section of a design parameter set, use List Length to check the size of an incoming list, then Extract Subset to isolate a run of values you want to reuse. Insert List Items can place that subset back into another list at a chosen position. This is useful for building modular and reconfigurable parameter sets.

Build a parametric range with List Sequence SEC

For a parametric pattern, connect a List Sequence SEC node to a Remap Numbers node. List Sequence SEC creates an evenly spaced set of numbers between a start and end value, and Remap Numbers rescales those numbers to a new output range. Feed the result into Graft Tree to wrap each value in its own branch, then pass it to a geometric node to create an array of individually tunable instances.

Filter a hierarchical data tree

When a tree contains many small or empty branches, chain Clean Tree to remove null items and Prune Tree to drop under-populated branches. Follow with Simplify Tree to remove redundant path depth, then use Tree Statistics to inspect the resulting structure. This is a practical way to clean geometry inputs before sending them to a modelling operation.
